Jeremy Engman began coaching as an assistant coach in 1997 in an off-season winter clinic assisting with Scott Valley Swim Team, a job which led him into coaching the MSL Seals for three seasons. He was Head Coach for the Marin Pirates USA Age-Group Swimming Program, first piloting in Mill Valley in 2011 and continuing as Head Coach with the Marin Pirates for 3 years as Head Age-Group and Masters Coach. He is the founder of Soma Aquatics and President and CEO of Soma Aquatics Foundation Inc., a non-profit learn to swim and swim safety organization. He has a BA in Ethnic Studies from the University of Colorado. Jeremy later continued studying selective alternative healing methods at Emperors College of Oriental Medicine in Southern California. He took selected studies in Qi Gong, Tai Chi, and a balanced introduction to fundamental oriental medicine and energetic healing. Jeremy grew up in Mill Valley and currently lives in Petaluma with his wife Marcialeny and wonderful son Jaden Andrés.
Head Coach - High School Water Polo
Mike started playing at age 14 here in Marin. Since then he has played with masters teams and clubs in Marin, San Francisco, San Antonio, Boston, New York, and Buenos Aires. He played a year of varsity at Fordham University and was on the Boston College Men's Club team that took fourth at nationals in 2014. Mike holds a B.A. in philosophy from Fordham University where he graduated as a member of the Phi Sigma Tau honors philosophy society. He holds a M.A. in philosophy from Boston College where his main interests were ethics, the history of western thought and metaphysics. Two principles guide his coaching. The first found in virtue ethics, is the belief that actions are excellent when they are the mean between excess and deficiency and are done for the right reason. The second is that people reach out towards what they perceive as good for them.
Coach - High School Water Polo
Matthew McDowell began his coaching career at Santa Rosa Junior College as an Assistant coach in 2008. After his first year of coaching Matt returned to college to finish his degree and collegiate career at the University of La Verne. After Graduating in 2011 with a B.S. in Kinesiology, Matt returned to coaching at SRJC for the 2011 season. Matt started playing water polo in High school at Glenbrook South High School in Glenview, IL. He graduated and went to Santa Rosa Junior College and played 2 years at the JC level. Matt is currently the head coach of the Boys water polo team at Cardinal Newman High School and Teaches for Gravenstein Union School District.
Coach - Water Polo
Brandon began coaching after graduating from Dana Hills High School in 2013. Brandon has been the assistant coach for Serra High School, Alliance Water Polo Club, and is currently the JV coach at Cardinal Newman High School. Brandon has been playing water polo for 12 years, starting with Orange County Water Polo club at the age of 10, playing all 4 years in high school, up until college where he played for the Sonoma State Water Polo Club. Brandon is currently a student at Sonoma State University and is majoring in Finance.

Lynn grew up in Marin swimming for Lucas Valley and getting her water polo start at Terra Linda High School. She went on to play water polo for UC Davis. For many years, Lynn has coached swimming for teams in California and Wyoming. She has been the head coach for the Boys and Girls water polo teams at Terra Linda high school since 2014.
Water Polo, Coach u16/u18 and Age-Group
Ethan began swimming for the Marinwood Water Devils at age 8. He began playing water polo his freshmen year at Terra Linda high school at age 14 where he competed on the JV team for 1 year and the varsity team for 3 years. Ethan is currently a captain on the Santa Rosa Junior college men's water polo team.
Coach Liaison (Water Polo)
Bob has coached the Tam High Varsity and JV Water Polo teams since 2001. A native of San Jose, Bob played polo for Lincoln HS, San Jose CC, and Stanford University. He and his wife have lived in Mill Valley since 1985. He has two grown sons.
